The House of Tindale uses the finest and softest leather available to produce durable, quality bags that will stand up beautifully against whatever life throws your way.
To keep your purchase looking just as glam and gorgeous as the day it arrived, please follow these care instructions. Proper care and storage will drastically lengthen the lifespan of your leather bag.
Avoid prolonged exposure to heat and light.
Heat and light are natural enemies to leather. Prolonged exposure can dry out leather and cause it to become stiff or cracked. While part of leather’s attractiveness comes from aging, heat and light can cause the color to change rapidly and unevenly.
Keep away from water.
While a light drizzle probably won’t harm your bag, wearing your bag in a downpour can cause water spots that may not dry and fade evenly. If your leather bag does get wet, pat or tap dry with a clean, dry cloth, open it wide and let it air dry in a place away from excessive heat or direct light. It’s important that you do not rub the bag when drying, as doing so may scratch or scuff the leather.
Cosmetics and leather do not mix.
We know your makeup and skin care products are every bit as important to you as your bag, but cosmetics can mark, stain, or otherwise irreversibly damage your leather bag. We recommend using a separate pouch to safely carry these items.
Give it the VIP treatment.
Leather is like a woman; it only gets better with age. But just like women, occasional special care can keep your leather soft, supple and fresh for years to come.
If you feel that your leather could use a quick wash, please use a soft, damp cloth that has been submerged in soapy water and wrung out well. Let the bag air dry away from sources of direct light and heat.
Every 4-6 months, we recommend buffing the leather with a natural leather cleaner using a cloth made from microfiber or other superfine, nonabrasive materials to avoid scratches, scuffs, and other markings. Always spot test cleaners in an inconspicuous area first!
Protect your bag with proper storage.
When you’re not using your bag, we recommend storing it inside our original black dust bag to protect your leather bag from dirt, dust, and direct light. Store your bag in a dry, cool place where it will not be crushed or crowded. When it’s stored away, we recommend placing silica gel packs inside your bag to absorb humidity and prevent mould from forming.
